The Canals of Amsterdam

Can you imagine a city with a lot of canals? I wish I can make an image of Amsterdam from a bird's eye view. I had seen one in internet and I was amazed how these canals were made around Amsterdam city.

Last summer 2010, me and a friend from the United States did some Europe adventure. One of the cities we visited was the capital city of Netherlands and that is no other than Amsterdam. I am even thinking which cities has more canals, Venice in Italy or in Amsterdam? I was in Venice thrice but I still don't have any idea how many canals does this city has. I need to find this out in my next entry here.

With its many canals Amsterdam is has been called the "Venice of the North". We had a cruise in its canals during our trip last 2010. It was worth-it and even one of the many ways to explore this marvelous.

the boat where we boarded during our cruise in Amsterdam canals last August 2010.

The seventeenth-century canal ring area of Amsterdam inside the Singelgracht belongs to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

One of the canals in Amsterdam. The three main canal in this city are called the Herengracht, Prinsengracht, and Keizersgracht.
